Healthy Recipes, Smoothie Recipes

Smoothies are a great way to get an extra burst of healthy nutrition into your diet. It’s easy to add in a few extra servings of fruits, berries and even green leafy vegetables in a smoothie and enjoy it as a delicious meal or snack.

Here is one of my favorite healthy vegan smoothie recipes – Chocolate Ginger Berry! I know, the combination sounds wierd but once you try it you will love it!

This smoothie is delicious and creamy with a nice gingery punch. And it’s chock-full of healthy vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and loads of protein to keep you full and energized throughout the day.

Chocolate Ginger Berry Smoothie

1 cup silken tofu
1 1/2 cups frozen mixed berries
1 teaspoon agave nectar
1 teaspoon chopped ginger
2 tablespoons raw cocao powder
1 cup nondairy milk (I use almond, cashew, rice, soy or hemp milk)

Just blend up all the ingredients and enjoy! It makes a great power-packed breakfast full of protein, fiber, and tons of antioxidants and minerals from the berries, cacao and ginger. It’s also a great drink for before or after workouts because of the high protein content.

Oh, I got all excited about this recipe until I read the first ingredient. I avoid eating soy because of the phytic acid, estrogen, and because it’s probably genetically modified.

Do you have any good smoothie recipes without soy, please?

    Thank you!

Hi Mary Ann, Thanks for your comment about soy. You can just remove the soy from the recipe and use water or your preference of almond, hemp, cashew, oat, or other milk. I really like the information on this wordpress blog. I’m a average woman with some belly fat and I’ve lost 4.9 lbs in just 23 days. I suggest The Diet Solution Program to all my friends and it’s really effective.
