Going Gaga Over Lady Gaga’s Fitness and Diet Plan

Celebs have people they pay to help keep them in shape and looking good for the camera. Lady Gaga is no exception.

You would think with all the dancing she does onstage and in videos she wouldn’t need a regular workout routine, but alas, if you don’t change it up it will quit working. You may have noticed that in the past when you’ve stuck with just one routine, that after a while it quits working. You have to give your body some change to keep your muscles from get bored. They call it muscle confusion.

Nonetheless, here is a great workout routine, inspired and practiced by Lady Gaga, followed by a diet plan to help get your body in top form.

The Lady Gaga Workout

Lady Gaga has it all; great legs, great arms and even great abs. Her trainer, Harley Pasternak, gives her a great fitness routine that gives her the most fabulous body and that’s why she hired him. Exercise 5 days a week, with two days off.

Grad up some dumbbells. Lady Gaga loves her workout gear, and that includes weights. For a great arm workout that Lady Gaga loves do the dumbbell roll. Stand with legs shoulder length apart, and lean forward just a bit.

Lady Gaga has trim arms and loves to show off her tattoo.

Hold arms bent at sides, with weights. Moving both arms at the same time in the same motion pretend you are rowing by reaching your arms forward and then back to their beginning position. Do this to a count of 20, building up as weeks go on.

For the legs, Lady Gaga loves the Skater Lunge. Just think of the moves you would make if you were ice skating or rollerblading.

Lady Gaga shows off her legs – and you can too if you follow her workout!

When you lunge your right leg out reach your left arm down towards your right toe and stretching your other arm out behind you. Keep your back flat and your left leg straight. Hold for a count of five and then straighten up to repeat with the other side. Do 10 to 15 reps per leg.

Gaga Abs

I like to call this the standing crunch. Again, Lady Gaga loves using props, like hand weights. Grab up your hand weights, stand with your feet shoulder length apart and hold your hands straight down in front of you. Bend at the waist, reaching your weights towards the ground in front of you, then come back up straight. Do this move for a count of twenty. As time goes on you can work up to a 50 count and a 100 count. Not only is this a great workout for the abs, but it strengthens your arms and back too!

Lady Gaga’s Diet

Pasternak 5-Factor diet is what Lady Gaga, and a few other celebs follow, when it comes to healthy eating. The plan revolves around eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. Eat fiber, healthy carbs, low-fat protein and healthy fats. On this diet you are allowed one cheat day each week, but don’t go overboard or you’ll have a lot of making up to do.

Lady Gaga always eats her veggies! Make sure you do too.

A sample diet that you might see Lady Gaga eating on any given day is as follows:

For breakfast have pancakes made with whole wheat flour and nonfat milk, topped with fresh fruit of your choice. A great lunch would be a healthy salad with fruits and vegetables, topped with a light vinaigrette. Dinner will be a filling meal of chicken breast, baked in the oven, over quinoa. Season to your liking. Snack choices popular with Lady Gaga are apples with peanut butter and chips with salsa.
